On Rail

Tonight (August 16, 2020), I was able to photograph a transfer of 10 new tank cars from the manufacturer “BS” for On Rail GmbH at Bratislava Hlavná Stanica.
The train ran today as train 47774 from Rusovce to Břeclav Přednádraží. According to the waybill, the cars are coming from Bulgaria, traveling via Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic to Germany. The factory plate reads “Burgas Bulgaria.” However, some of the cars bear the inscription “Made in Montenegro”; presumably, the steel comes from there.

The cars are expected to arrive in Germany sometime this week, possibly back at Waggonbau Graaff in Elze. Some time ago, the company also received Ermewa Zacns cars with a reddish primer finish from the manufacturer Tatravagónka Poprad. The final finishing work (painting, etc.) was carried out in Elze, after which the cars were handed over to the customer, Ermewa SA.

Samskip Launches Duisburg-Amsterdam Rail Service

Multimodal company Samskip and Nunner Logistics are launching direct rail services between Amsterdam and Duisburg, as part of a new and far-reaching commitment to shippers using rail, road, and waterborne transport services from two of Northern Europe’s main container ports.

Starting August 20, 2020, the new service will connect Samskip’s rail terminal in Duisburg with TMA Terminal Amsterdam, initially with two weekly departures in each direction. Service frequency will increase to three round trips per week starting in September.

Nunner Logistics operates weekly trains from the Chinese cities of Xi’an and Changsha to Duisburg. With both Duisburg and Amsterdam connecting seamlessly to Samskip’s European rail, road, and short-sea network, the six-hour rail transit between the two cities provides a reliable and flexible transport option, optimized for the prompt delivery of 40-foot and 45-foot containers, reefer units, flat racks, and tank containers.

The new rail shuttle has been launched in collaboration with TMA Terminal Amsterdam, the Port of Amsterdam, and Duisport Group, with DistriRail providing rail haulage services.

Traction Makes IRP

The first-of-its-kind link to and from Amsterdam adds a new dimension to Samskip’s weekly short-sea service connecting to the Norwegian west coast, and for shippers using its three weekly departures to Hull and Tilbury. High-frequency rail shuttles will also extend the reach of short-sea services into Amsterdam beyond Duisburg, to Sweden, Denmark, Poland, Italy, and Turkey.

“We are excited to launch this missing link in our network and offer an even stronger intermodal product,” says David Besseling, Samskip Head of UK Trade. “The combination of Samskip’s rail and short-sea service networks creates a variety of efficient long-distance intermodal services for a sustainable door-to-door solution. Together with our partners, we look forward to increasing frequency and geographical reach even further.”

Erik Groot Wassink, Director of Special Products at Nunner Logistics, comments: “Nunner Logistics transports a large number of containers from China bound for the UK via the New Silk Road, with most trains arriving in Duisburg without a suitable intermodal connection onward to the Dutch ports that link to the UK. This new service bridges that gap, ensuring a reliable intermodal connection for cargo bound for the UK. It is also a wonderful intermodal addition to our services between the Netherlands, the UK, and CIS countries.”

“This greatly enriches our current rail shuttle services on this corridor,” adds Sander de Roo, Managing Director of DistriRail. Duisport Group Chief Executive Erich Staake describes the connection as a “central project” in enhancing intermodal networks and supply chain resilience, while TMA Logistics Chief Executive Gerben Matroos sees the service as a way to “further shape Amsterdam’s position as a short sea hub.” Meanwhile, Rob Smit, Hinterland Manager at the Port of Amsterdam, highlighted the port’s support for new rail services as the “efficient, clean, and safe” option.

The 1014 on a test drive

https://bahnbilder.warumdenn.net/21398.htm

For quite some time, things had been quiet regarding the former ÖBB Class 1014 locomotives from ZTT that had been returned to service.
After several technical modifications, the 1014.003 and 1014.008 completed a load test run on August 13, 2020. During the test, the GAG 61890 slag train operated by Grampet Cargo Austria was hauled from Moosbierbaum-Heiligeneich to Mistelbach and back to Leopoldau on the Laaer Ostbahn in the Weinviertel region. The scheduled 1142.630 remained uncoupled from the train during the run.
The two 1014-series locomotives are currently stationed in Strasshof, from where the previous special locomotive train had also been routed to Leopoldau.

10 Years of Partnership

A mechanical watch movement is very complex and consists of many small gears, springs, and screws. For a movement to run to the second, a high degree of accuracy and precision is required.

RTB CARGO has been one of our customers for 10 years, and we greatly value this partnership. Everything runs smoothly and without a hitch. We can also confirm that over the past ten years, RTB CARGO has succeeded in passing on its professional and high-quality standards not only to us as a business partner but also to its customers.

RTB CARGO is one of our largest customers, which leads to a close and intensive collaboration. We’d also like to take this opportunity to thank you for always making this partnership so open and positive. Like gears meshing together, we’ve been working side by side from the very beginning!

HSL with G 1206 in Rostock

We have been leasing this BG G 1206 locomotive since January 1, 2020. The BR V 60 West locomotive (No. 363 121-5) is also still in Rostock.

Nope, but eventually their time ran out, and with the "Truck Walter" background, we needed a little more reliability 😉
