Milšped, an automotive logistics company that is expanding into the rail sector with the help of Jörn Enderlein (former board member of ARS Altmann), has already achieved some successes.
In addition to the Mercedes G transport services from Graz Messendorf (Magna Steyr) to Bremerhaven—which were taken over in July 2019 in partnership with Steiermarkbahn Transport und Logistik (STB)—import shipments from Bremerhaven are also operated on a spot basis. These include shipments to Lahr in the Black Forest with egoo and STB’s German partner, ecco-rail. In collaboration with egoo and hrs, the company has also carried out trips from Bremerhaven to Ahlhorn to the temporary storage facility on the local airport grounds.
For spot services, an electric locomotive from the SEL series is also used, operating under the Nordliner license. In February, routes included Lahr–Bremerhaven, among others.
There are currently 75 new Laaer cars from Milsped GmbH (operator B-MIL) available—in addition, 50 flatcars have been leased from TWA specifically for service to Graz.
