Im Rahmen des Zugangs der fabrikneuen Siemens Vectron MS gibt SBB Cargo International die drei für innerdeutsche Intermodalverkehre angemieteten Vectron AC (DA HU RO) an ELL zurück:
For shunting duties, SBB Cargo International (SBBCI) has
decided to invest in a new H3 hybrid locomotive, which will be allocated
to Offenbach am Main. On 05.06.2020, Südleasing and SBBCI officially
took delivery of the locomotive that got a unique design.
The red machine got stickers with colors that refer to SBBCI’s
Vectron fleet and depicting buildings from Offenbach (Büsingpalais for
example) and the skylines of Frankfurt am Main, which is nearby. The
design was made by Railcolor Design.
’90 80 1002 035-6 D-ALS’ is an Alstom H3 locomotive that runs on diesel and has an additional Li-ion battery pack.
On the Rhine Valley line, on Thursday evening, April 2, at
approximately 7:30 p.m., a Rollende Landstrasse train operated by SBB Cargo
International derailed in Auggen (Germany), in the state of Baden-Württemberg. According to information from the
responsible German authorities, a concrete section of a bridge—which
was scheduled to be demolished this weekend—collapsed onto the tracks.
The freight train collided with it. According to
the latest information from the authorities, the train engineer died in the accident; other people
were reportedly injured.
The route between Freiburg (Breisgau) and Basel will remain closed until
further notice. An alternative travel option is being arranged for passengers.
Due to coronavirus-related regulations,
cross-border passenger rail service to and from Germany is
currently largely suspended. Travelers are asked to
check the online schedule before each trip. Freight service on
the affected route is also suspended until further notice. SBB
Cargo International is rerouting as many trains as possible via Singen.
The freight train in question was traveling from Freiburg im Breisgau toward Basel and would have continued on to Italy, bound for Novara. The train was hauled by a BLS locomotive; however, SBB Cargo International is responsible for rail operations as far as Basel. On behalf of RAlpin—the Rolling Highway—BLS Cargo and SBB Cargo International jointly operate the Rolling Highway trains, with SBB Cargo International being responsible for operations on the German and Italian sections of the route.
