Switzerland and China Now Connected

Starting April 1, 2020, Schweizerzug, in partnership with RTSB, will offer a fast and reliable alternative for shipments between Switzerland and China, as both air and ocean freight services are severely restricted and overloaded due to the coronavirus crisis. We offer weekly departures.

The new container train service on the Iron Silk Road serves Frenkendorf near Basel and Niederglatt near Zurich, and connects to Xi'an in Shaanxi Province and Hefei in Anhui Province. Additional destinations are accessible via these two industrial hubs.

Through our agency partners Optimodal Nederland B.V. and Rail B.V., we have a local presence for you at the major transportation hubs of Rotterdam, Antwerp, and Neuss. In addition, we work with qualified service providers such as Swissterminal, BLS Cargo, Verzollung & Logistik, and Gaston Schul to get your cargo to its destination quickly and reliably.

BLS Cargo / Crossrail instead of LINEAS

The Antwerp–Frenkendorf service offered by Schweizerzug AG, which operates six round trips, has a new operator: Instead of LINEAS via the Montzen route, BLS Cargo / Crossrail Benelux has been operating the service via Venlo and Roosendaal since January 1, 2020.
