TRIANGULA Logistik has acquired two LEW E 11 electric locomotives from Georg Verkehrsorganisation (GVG), which ceased operations following the death of its founder and owner. As a result, three of the four electric locomotives—which were sold to GVG nearly 20 years ago and were rarely used—have now found new owners:

Built in 1975, locomotive 211 073 was taken out of service by the DR in 1993, subsequently entered the Bernd Falz collection, and was stored in Jüterbog. In 2000, the company then known as Adtranz acquired the locomotive and refurbished it for its own locomotive fleet. After that pool was discontinued, Georg purchased the locomotive—now painted white—and registered it as 109-3.

The former 211 084 was also taken out of service before the merger of DB and DR to form DB AG and was acquired by entrepreneur Ludger Guttwein for his “Rügen Railway and Technology Museum.” In 1998, it was transferred to the Prignitzer Eisenbahn (PEG), and in 1999, like its sister locomotive, it was transferred to the Adtranz Lokpool and then to GVG, where it served as 109-1.

Locomotive 211 026 was built as early as 1963 and, after its service with the DR, was put into service in 1988 at the “Einheit” lignite complex in Bitterfeld. In 1992, Bernhard van Engelen acquired the locomotive through his trading company, Mainische Feldbahnen. In 2000, it was resold to Adtranz and later to GVG, which reclassified the spare-parts donor as 109-4.

The newest locomotive in the four-unit set is the 211 013, built in 1962. While still registered as 109 013 with DB AG, it was taken out of service in 1994. Ludger Guttwein acquired it in 1995 and transferred the locomotive to Adtranz in 1999. The locomotive, later designated 109-2 in the GVG fleet, is being preserved for a museum and has been undergoing restoration since 2019 by the “Traditionslok 58 3047” Association in Glauchau.
