Bahnlogistik24 GmbH, based in Dresden, has acquired two V 200.1 locomotives from Rail Transport Service Germany GmbH (RTS). These locomotives had most recently been stored in Neustrelitz and arrived in Dresden-Friedrichstadt on June 17, 2020.
RTS had acquired the locomotives in 2010 from the insolvent EBW – Eisenbahnbewachungs-GmbH. The two locomotives had been exported from DB to Greece in the 1990s and reimported by Prignitzer Eisenbahn GmbH (PEG) in 2002. Prior to their transfer to EBW, they underwent modernization at the East Mecklenburg Railway Depot in Neustrelitz, and their engines were replaced with MTU 12V 4000 R41 engines.
Bahnlogistik24 has had a V 200.1—number 221 135—in its fleet since 2017; however, this one is equipped with its original engines. The locomotive’s service life expired in mid-June 2020.
