New Cars for Modalis / RDT 13

Since May 29, 2020, the French regional rail operator Régie Départementale des Transports des Bouches-du-Rhône (RDT 13) has been using new railcars and containers for household waste transport between Marseille and the EveRé incineration plant in Fos-sur-Mer.

The leasing company Modalis SAS, based in Aix-en-Provence, has acquired 110 new 60-foot Sgnss containers from the manufacturer Tatravagónka Poprad, as well as 400 20-foot open-top containers from Italy (?). The green containers are operated from the Saint-Louis-les-Aygalades transshipment facility (north), while the brown ones are operated from Marseille-Blancarde (south). Approximately 130 containers are transported to Fos-sur-Mer each day—about 400,000 metric tons annually.
